Dairyland SSD
When the concern arises that an induced AC current is on your structure, Dairyland Solid State Decouplers (SSD) are used as part of a long-term solution to help mitigate the AC current, while also decoupling DC currents, allowing you to optimize the performance of your cathodic protection system. The SSD isolates the cathodic protection system from an AC grounding system that is installed to prevent over voltage events. In the event an AC fault or lightning strike occurs, the SSD would switch to a completely shorted mode, providing protection to workers on the structure. Dairyland SSD’s are built and designed using new production and packaging techniques, offering a certified, fail-safe solution at lower costs than other methods.
• Available in -2/+2V or -3/+1V threshold voltages
• AC steady start current (amperes – rms) 50/60Hz 45A (standard)
• Lightning surge current 100kA crest (4 x 10 µs waveform) for 5.0KA, 3.7KA and 2.0KA models
• Lightning surge current 75kA crest (4 x 10 µs waveform) for 1.2KA models
• IP68 rated submersible to 2m depth
• Rated for Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D
When ordering a Dairyland SSD, please indicate the blocking threshold, AC fault current, lightning surge current and terminal arrangement style required. Please see the model number description below.
